Why Is Weight Management Important?

Maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for preventing and managing chronic conditions such as:

  • Type 2 Diabetes

  • High Blood Pressure

  • Heart Disease

  • Joint and Mobility Issues

  • Mental Health Concerns (such as low self-esteem and depression)

A structured weight management programme not only helps with weight loss but also improves energy levels, mobility, and overall quality of life.

At One Point Healthcare, we understand that achieving and maintaining a healthy weight is essential for overall well-being. Our Weight Loss Programme is designed to provide medically supervised support, ensuring a safe, sustainable, and effective approach to weight management.

Our Weight Loss Programme

Our comprehensive and evidence-based approach includes the following key elements:

Personalised Consultation and Health Assessment

- Each patient undergoes a full medical evaluation to identify any underlying health conditions that may be affecting weight gain or weight loss. - Blood tests are conducted to assess metabolic health, hormone levels, and potential deficiencies.

Nutrition and Lifestyle Modifications

- Tailored dietary guidance based on your lifestyle and preferences. - Advice on balanced meals, portion control, and nutrient-rich diets. - Recommendations for sustainable lifestyle changes to support long-term weight management.

Medical Weight Loss Support (If Suitable)

For certain patients, medical interventions may be recommended to aid in weight loss. These include: - Prescription Weight Loss Medication (evaluated based on individual suitability). - Injections and supplements to support metabolism and fat breakdown. - Hormonal assessments for those experiencing weight gain due to thyroid or hormonal imbalances.

Physical Activity and Fitness Recommendations

- Support for improving mobility, strength, and cardiovascular health. - Guidance on incorporating activity into daily routines.

For weight management through medication or injectables, we follow a specific process:

Blood test to assess the suitability of the treatment – if the patient has not recently had a test checking liver and kidney health.

Cooling-off period – the patient will consider the risks and benefits of the treatment.

Prescription sent to their local pharmacy.

Blood test after 6 weeks to check how the liver and kidneys are affected.

Tailored repeat prescriptions until the desired weight is achieved.
